It is about "trans vaginal probe Governor Bob" McDonnell now pursuing the involuntary external surveillance of Virginians, after his enthusiasm for the internal surveillance of Virginian women against their will.
It goes without saying, I want Virginia out of Vaginae. It appears Virginians aren't too happy about 'big brother' surveillance of any kind -- except where it is forced on women.
Both are intended for government intrusion and right wing erosion of your freedom as a human being in the United States.
It reinforces for me that the right wing, whichever label they wish to stick on their silly hats or funny costumes, is the party of dictators and authoritarian fascism. They scream and rant about the sanctity of the word freedom, when what they really seek is the legal power to enforce conformity to a very narrow set of ideas and badly failed ideology on others. They rant about the 'nanny state', where there is reasonable safety regulation, consistent with the rest of the civilized and developed world, while they instead replace it with a far more hazardous and unregulated kind of big brother police state. Of the two, the nanny state, which I think is an inaccurate characterization, is far more benign and healthful to society than the thuggish right wing dictatorship of the oligarchs, not government of and by the people.
If you have any doubts, take a look at these four illustrations -- notice the similarity, not only of the basic form - with and without wings/tail section. Both are intrusive, providing involuntary insertion into ones privacy, both have punitive and destructive qualities. There is no secret that the real reason that the trans vaginal probe laws have been enacted is to make women feel more violated, and more humiliated, and any little extra pain is just a bonus to the arrogant overreach on the right in their war on women. It is not ONLY a war on women, but it is definitely a war on people, one targeted demographic at a time. Well...there is one significant difference between the trans vaginal probe and the predator drone -- when women are the victims of the predator drones, they are innocent, accidental victims. ReplyDeleteI heard this home Drone surveillance was coming to the U.S. via the police forces. The highways and corridors between Washington D.C. and Baltimore is one of the most personal data collections systems today by the NSA and Homeland Security.
I remember when people thought the predictions of the book, “1984,” where just too outrageous and would never come to pass. Well just as “Science Fictions” has a unique aspect of becoming “Science Fact,” we are seeing this as a reality today.
A sad moment in our current country’s aspect and if you remember well, the hero in the 1984 book, did not end well for him.
A yes! And Animal Farm with 'some animals being more equal than others' is sounding awfully prophetic of the enormous and increasing wealth and income gap, and the political power of the wealthy with the billionaire funded PACs and ALEC.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some 25 years + off on hitting the dates, but otherwise those were all too accurate as literary crystal balls.
Between the anti-gays at Disney World planes flying with banners behind them to the predator drone attacks killing their good targets but also a lot of civilians that I wrote about in droning on and on, there are some terrible air-based attacks going on.
And the great figure of Ford is still around!
