But that's ok, according to Barton himself, apparently. Barton is a fraud when it comes to history; he is not an historian, he promotes false information and inaccurate ideas. He is a right wing nut, who seeks to impose and coerce Americans, trying to force us to conform to his toxic religious beliefs.
From It Can't Happen Here:

" When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." attributed to Sinclair Lewis and/or Huey LongDefinitely from Sinclair Lewis:

"But he saw too that in America the struggle was befogged by the fact that the worst Fascists were they who disowned the word 'Fascism' and preached enslavement to Capitalism under the style of Constitutional and Traditional Native American Liberty."From Gideon Planish:
"I just wish people wouldn't quote Lincoln or the Bible, or hang out the flag or the cross, to cover up something that belongs more to the bank-book and the three golden balls."That applies to Jefferson, Madison, and the rest of the founding fathers as well as Lincoln.
