It is a testament to how completely the right wing policies and ideologies have been rejected, and how badly the Republicans have done since the 2010 election cycle. The 2012 election success has been in spite of hypocrisy from the far right extremists trying to gin up hate for people of color, and a mistaken fear of Islam. The effort to create fear and hatred of others is the legacy of conservative hypocrisy.
It is appropriate that the 2nd inaugural celebration will occur on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, and on the 150th anniversary of the emancipation proclamation by Abraham Lincoln. It is the nation pushing back against lingering conservative racism, bigotry, intolerance, and hatred.
