The problem with religious conservatives, apart from the glaring one of being factually inaccurate about the causes of natural disasters like earthquakes, is that they consistently try to blame women for the problems of male lust. When it comes to sexual desires, the solution is for men to own their own libidos, not to make women dress in giant tea cozies with eye holes.
The mistaken teachings of Islam in this regard sound exactly like the failed teachings of right wing nut politicians, including those who are Christian fundie religious nuts in western cultures. The problem is not the respective religions, but the extremist thinking and beliefs of those who are ridiculous conservatives.
Abortion causes neither hurricanes nor earthquakes. Homosexuality causes neither natural disasters like massive fires and floods, nor any bad human-initiated disaster in this country, like mass shootings. That kind of thinking has no connection to legitimate spirituality or religious belief, it is silly superstition, and should be repudiated as such.
When I see this, I think of Mike Huckabee and Pat Robertson; same kind of peas, only slightly different pods.

Now I know Pat Roberton is an old fool, a really old really foolish man, but.....was he there in Haiti at the time of the uprising? Because he seems to be hearing voices again, that he believes are the devil(s) speaking to him, about what was said, apparently. How sad that devout stupid people think he makes sense and believe him. They are fools too, dangerously foolish.
On another note, while trying to relocate the image I was looking for of the tea cozy with the eyes appropriately, I came across tea cozies that were apparently inspired by Cthulhu, of all things (I couldn't make up something like that). I couldn't help but wonder how a Chtulhu cleric might try the same line of rhetoric used by Kazem Swdighi, Huckster-bee, and Robertson..... it made for an interesting few moments of speculation.
