The gun lobby for the gun manufacturers, aka the NRA, don't want any changes that would cut into their gun sales and blood money. The politicians they have bought don't either. They are hoping that when it is a less fresh tragedy, we will have fogotten, that the edge will be off of the discussion, that it will quietly go away while the American public focuses on the next new shiny distraction.
