On Fridays, I like to change up the content a little bit, from serious, or mostly serious, to serious but funny. In that context, here is a recent Fiore animation, and a couple of my favorite recent cartoons.
The truth hurts, and it should hurt this amendment that the argument against changing it was that it was the purview of the legislature to misrepresent the legislation if it wanted to do so. Lightning should strike people for that kind of reasoning. With the increasing difficulties of global warming, lightning is striking many more people than previously, so it would make sense if it struck down those who were lying - as in "may lightning strike me if...". But instead it does appear those increased lightning strikes are relatively random. There have been almost as many lightning strikes lately, as there have been right wing legislators trying to lie, deceive, mislead, persecute, or just plain hurt us.
We're in an election cycle again, so it makes an interesting race to see which does more damage, the lightning and high winds, or the lies and .....windy bullshit of the legislators.
I did have one small caveat to the first Steve Sack cartoon; I'm not at all sure that the late Senator Joe McCarthy is in heaven. Given the horrible things he did in life, hell, or at least purgatory since ol' Joe was baptised and brought up a Roman Catholic.
