Minnesota GOP Gubenatorial Candiate Tom Emmer has finally started in with his campaign advertisements, and as expected, it's the same tired, out and (imho) highly discredited saw of "lower taxes and the rich will give you good jobs."

Emmer talks about 'job killing taxes" and "pro-growth tax cuts" in a clip that could have been played in 1983 or 2003, nothing changes, tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts for all ills - it is the only policy position on which the GOP seems consistent.

Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida likes to make sensational comments to make his point.  He can fairly be accused of intemperate speech - as can many Republicans in the House of Representatives, and not a few from either side of the aisle in the Senate as well.

Earlier this week Grayson was covered by Fox-News-almost.  As an apparent direct result of his statements, tamer than many, and the subsequent coverage those comments received on Faux, it appears that Mr. Grayson has received death threats at his office.

The feeding frenzy has begun among the participants in the Affinity Scam Ponzi scheme that my colleague Pen and I have been chronicling here on Penigma.  It was inevitable that the alleged crooked participants in this massive swindle, this rapacious fraud, would sooner or later begin to turn on each other as the pressure was applied by the victims and their lawyers, by the receiver charged with recovering as much of the money as possible, by the SEC and CFTC, and by the US Attorney's office.  It is what the pressure is intended to do.

This week I've spent three days in Washington, D.C. Each day was well above 100 degrees, with a humidity so thick visibility was no more than a couple of miles. The air hangs over the city like a dirty brown blanket, trapping pollution and the smells of the city, reflecting them back to the street to remind us all of what the air would smell like if a soft breeze didn't so often carry them away.

This reminder of what a modern city in 2010 creates, air quality warnings, brown-outs and rolling black-outs as power grids are taxed to the breaking point to provide the energy needed to keep us in our air conditioned houses, out of the oppressive atmosphere. We drive to work, shelter in our offices, burn our coal to create the power, further turning the skies brown, and then we...
