The Murray – Ryan Budget passed the House of Representatives with a solid majority.
Who voted yea and who voted nay from the Minnesota delegation is interesting, given the posturing by some on the far right, where Kline and Paulsen voted with the ‘suicide caucus’ on measures like closing down the government. Not this time, however; all but one of the Democrats voted for it, and all but one of the Republicans voted for it as well. The nay votes were, respectively, from Keith Ellison on the left and Michele Bachmann on the radical right (as distinct from the far right, there being no real moderates on the right remaining).
This is in the larger context of 7 members of Congress not voting, 6 Democrats, 1 Republican. The Democrats were Corrine Brown of Florida; the only no Vote on the Republican side was Trey Radel, also of Florida, who is presumably still in treatment for his cocaine addiction, and was therefore absent. The other Democrats were Sanford Bishop of Georgia, Bobby Rush and Danny Davis of Illinois, Carolyn McCarthy of New York, and Joaquin Castro of Texas.

Now the Senate is scheduled to address this legislation on Tuesday, weather and Republicans permitting. Sen. Cruz may feel a pressing need to read The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins in a filibuster, or maybe he’ll move on to War and Peace, which would be appropriate.

My apologies for incorrectly posting here a different procedural vote on HJ Resolution 59; technically HJ 59 is not listed as the Murray Ryan budget bill, but as an earlier but changed budget bill by a different author from back in September.
