A little Oscar humor

Any doubt the right is racist?
When I visit my friend Mitch Berg's blog, the commentary of the Mitch-keteers is consistent in references to Barry-the-Kenyan and similar references to our president as not being a legitimate American. At least some of the commenters appear to be tea party birthers and believers in other wild conspiracy theories, rather than the kind of people with whom you could have a more rational conversation, a meeting of the minds. I can't remember ever seeing this kind of failed thinking and factual deficiencies repudiated - or in the case of the Palin-ites, 'refudiated'. The acceptance of the fringie right wing is truly deplorable.
Any doubt that there is racism among the extreme right?
One more occasion to wonder, "what is wrong with these people?". One more occasion the right tries to manufacture 'justifiable homicide' pretexts to shoot black people.
Try this on for size:

Right wing Nazis in the 2012 election cycle?

Force is not the answer to the problem, armed people in school is not the answer
The NRA is a one-trick pony that will give the same answer to every question, the same solution to every problem, and have become the problem.
PBS ran a recent series of programming on our gun violence problem. One in particular was excellent in identifying what does work well in preventing school violence. That program is posted below, but here is part of the description of "The Path to Violence". It is worth noting that the day of the Sandy Hook tragedy there were two other school shootings that were prevented on that same day.
Ever since the wake-up call that was Columbine, schools and law enforcement have developed multiple strategies to prevent attacks. Indeed, the horror of Newtown must be seen in a context that’s not defined by defeat.
More than 120 school assaults have been thwarted in the past ten years. And remarkably, while security hardware and physical barriers can play a deterrent role, it’s been psychologists — working hand in hand with law enforcement officers — who have come up with the most helpful tools to prevent violent attacks.
The Path to Violence tells the story of a powerfully effective Secret Service program — the Safe School Initiative — that’s helped schools detect problem behavior in advance.

There are better alternatives, more thoughtful ways to understand our gun violence problem, and to address it than just more force. The only thing that more guns in our society, our culture, have accomplished is more gun violence. It is time for that to end.
Our gun culture is a massive, epic failure.

GOP = HYPOCRISY
NO woman should be denied the choice to have an abortion of this jackass's child either.
The GOP needs to stop interfering with women's reproductive choices.
If there was any fairness, this jerk would be forced to carry his own embryo/fetus from sex with his mistress to trial. The science of how to do that exists.
Sure, it's invasive - but the right doesn't mind invasive, in fact, they LOVE it, so let them share it for a change.
Sure, there is the risk and the pain and the cost of a C-section, but the right doesn't mind that either.....as long as it is someone else paying and suffering. GOP = HYPOCRISY.
