Factcheck.org Busts Romeny About that Statement: "Our Navy is smaller now than any time since 1917"

From Factcheck.org:
■Romney was wrong when he repeated a claim that our “Navy is smaller now than any time since 1917.” Actually, there are slightly more ships active now than at the low point under President George W. Bush.
Former, unsuccessful Governor Romney, maybe you should go play with real life monopoly; President Obama appears to be sinking the battleship of your arguments.

  1. It's immaterial, really, whether Mittmoronimath is correct or just, y'know, made up bullshit.

The simple fact is that one modern aircraft carrier, cruiser or submarine is capable of doing far more damage than a WWII era battleship that it's not even a fair comparison.

The only nations that enjoy fantasies about taking on the USN and winning the battle are those incapable of mounting any sort of meaningful attack.
