I just corrected the post to show - this is merchandise from the respective OFFICIAL campaign web site.
Yeah..........I wonder how many Republicans and Tea Partiers complained to the Romney organization? It's not just Romney/Ryan either; during the run up to selecting Mitt, other GOP candidates did the same thing.
This actually is not true Dog. If you go on Romney's site, the hat in question can only be purchased in red, white or blue. But I must ask, where did you get this? I only ask because I have seen it everywhere, especially Facebook. While double checking this info, I found a few articles on Obama's clothing and how it is union made. I applaud you for that Mr. President.
Yes, you can get t-shirts on the Romney site in various colors. I'll be honest with you, I'm not about to donate $30 to the Romney campaign just to know for sure. LOLOLOLOLOLO But, the Romney/Ryan logo in the above picture is printed on a hat. You can see the "Bill" of the cap.
Good catch there J.O.B.; I just glanced at the logo, and then the label. T's shirts are also more often screen printed than embroidered, although some of the smaller logos on sweatshirts or other heavy fabric (jackets, etc.) are sometimes embroidered. It is one of those practical decisions based on how much weight the fabric can support.
This was reported (and yes, I did see it on facebook) as being from a campaign web site that was official -- which is SUPPOSED to be the case for every piece of merchandise with an official logo, that it has been approved by the campaign if it is representing the campaign (as distinct from some form of obvious parody or satire). However I did see this morning that Zazzle was selling partisan merchandise and that they made a point of noting they did NOT represent either campaign in any way. What they were less clear about was if they had permission or not to use the official logo, as distinct from claiming to be non-partisan, which I suspect they were smart enough to do before openly selling these products. The other aspect of this that is less clear is the color choices on STATE campaign websites, which are often pages of a party or supporting organization, rather than a presidential campaign ONLY.
Romney Ryan have been very loose with using music without permission, as have some other Republicans - notably Michele Bachmann. That makes it a crock when they talk about how important protecting intellectual property is to them. However, I would expect the Romney / Ryan people to be pretty shark-ish about protecting their OWN intellectual property, ie. the logo, etc. So on that basis this seems likely to be legit to me.
Yes Romney is still practicing his true aspects and a good litmus test exposure of what he would represent should he become President.
