The GOP apparently, as demonstrated by their votes, considers it more important to protect dogs, which are property, than women, which are not........or in the GOP worldview, maybe they are in some odd kind of limbo between real people (white males) and animals. Because their consistent record, at the local, state and federal level makes it perfectly clear the GOP regards women with contempt and hostility.
The GOP complains about losing women voters, and then they do this. This is NOT because Cantor got his tidy whities in a twist over the Senate, this objection to protecting women on Indian reservations from rape was a problem all along. This is wrong, this is bad, this is immoral, this is misogynistic.
It is time the GOP wised up that the problem is not their manner of delivering their message, the core problem is that they are corrupt, and wrong, and have badly flawed values that we reject. I don't care if Eric Cantor has had his feelings hurt. I care a lot though after this about helping his state vote his behind out of Congress. I'm only sorry we have to wait until 2014 for the next opportunity to throw him out, into a big dark hole of his own digging.
It is somewhat ironic that Cantor is against a bill that would protect women AND allow a group of people whom the U.S. government carried out a genocidal war against to conduct their own legal and criminal justice systems. But, then, maybe he doesn't have or know anyone who had an experience of being deprived of their rights, freedom and their very lives.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty apparent that Cantor's jewishness is only an issue when the subject of U.S. relations with Israel is on the table. He's a hypocritical scumbag.
The piece in the box says that Joe Biden is "working quietly". This is one time when I wish Hoof'n'mouth Joe would just say what he really thinks--I'm pretty sure Cantor would lose his shit if that happened.
